Hi, I’m Clara—a French illustrator living in Berlin for the past 15 years. I spent much of that time working as a graphic designer, until three years ago when I left my job to become an illustrator. I picked up my pencils, and began illustrating full-time. And last year, the very first book I illustrated was published—Yay!  

After taking a very inspiring picture book writing class, I’ve recently started writing my own stories. I love creating for kids. Stories are powerful.  Knowing that it might bring hope, laughter, or a moment of wonder to a child is honestly the best part of what I do.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me watching people, sketchbook in hand, capturing little gestures and expressions that might someday find their way into a character. Or walk my dog, she is a great inspiration for me! I also love bugs!
